I pre-ordered The Pioneer Woman’s Black Heels to Tractor Wheels. Early yesterday morning I grabbed it off the side table and threw it in my bag as Nathan and I departed our home for an long weekend together. Due to a series of travel delays from fog, a diversion to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, missed flights and no internet access, I had…

Thankful Thursday: Pink Hair, Green Nuk

Filed Under: Family Values, Motivated Moms Tagged With: family fun, working mom 3 Comments

Somedays life gets rocky and bumpy. You get thrown a curve ball or take a wrong turn. But at the end of the day, you can look around and be thankful for all that you have. One thankful moment this week came for me when I turned the corner in our hallway to find our little girls playing. They joyously…

Filed Under: Proteins, Recipes Tagged With: beef, grilling, hunk of meat Monday, meat, protein, steak 9 Comments

One of the FIRST questions my now husband asked me on our FIRST date was “Do you eat meat?”   Thankfully I was raised eating home-grown beef from my grandpa and uncle’s cow/calf operation. I eat meat. I eat red meat. I eat rare red meat. Steak, in particular, can be grilled unadorned and taste like candy to me.  My husband loves…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
