Hunk of Meat Monday: Not Martha’s Beef, Veggies and Noodles

Filed Under: Grains, Proteins, Recipes Tagged With: beef and noodles, cooking, hunk of meat Monday, protein 3 Comments

I don’t cook often like Martha Stewart. Basically, my mission in cooking is to feed my family in a healthy, affordable…and at times fun method. There are moments when I haven’t been to the grocery store in a week and stare into my chest freezer trying to figure out what meat I can pull out and invent a fast meal…

Blogging takes time away things I should be doing late at night or early in the morning. I could be sleeping or folding laundry. But instead, I blog…and then sleep and put off folding laundry. I was thinking about why I blog yesterday and shared with my colleague that it really comes down to 4 core reasons. They are 4…

Wordless Wednesday: Miss E’s Molten Chocolate Cake

Filed Under: Dessert Tagged With: molten chocolate cake, wordless Wednesday 6 Comments

At age three, Miss E has a sweet tooth and nothing brings a smile to her face quite like dessert. For a special treat, we made Almost-Famous Molten Chocolate Cake from a Food Network recipe delivered to my email inbox. The best part of making the individual cakes oozing with hot fudge was definitely the pay off of eating our creations. What’s…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
