Linking up today for Kelly’s Korner Show Us Your Life for Kid’s Birthday Parties.  One of our favorite kid’s birthday parties we have ever thrown was thanks to Miss E loving the Pinkalicious book, my idea to get the party planning rolling and then handing off to my creative sister for her ideas and coordination of a fabulously pink bash….

A Must Have Working Mom Children’s Book

Filed Under: Motivated Moms Tagged With: being a mom, mommy guilt, motherhood, working mom 3 Comments

For every mom who has to leave her babies for out of the home obligations…have this book, read this book and give this book. Nearly 18 months ago, as I approached maternity leave wrapping up with our youngest, Anika, my friend Julie sent me this book along with a few other favorites. It gives me peace with the balls I…

Linky Wordful Wednesday: Meet Tractor Oliver & Bob(cat)

Filed Under: Misc. Tagged With: Bobcat of North Dakota, weather, wordless Wednesday 11 Comments

Snow removal is no task for the faint of heart on the prairie. Meet Tractor Oliver.  He lives at our neighbor’s house and has been the most reliable snow removal tractor on the prairie. But sometimes there is just so much snow that it makes us cry. Especially when the snow won’t stop falling in the month of March. Yesterday…

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and Lenten season kicks off. It leads to Easter. On the frozen, snowy prairie, it seems like the dead of winter right now. But the thought of Easter brings me hope of budding trees, crocuses, tulips, tractors, seeding and planting on the prairie.  In our Christian faith, the season of Lent and then the Easter celebration…

Spaghetti is my go-to, get it done, fast family meal. It involves just a few key ingredients and my kids can help me. From start to finish we can get it done in less than 30 minutes if needed.  Start with tomato sauce. I frozen sauce last fall with my garden tomatoes. Or just go for a jar of Ragu…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
