Show Us Your Life: A Pinkalicious Birthday Party

Filed Under: Life in North Dakota Tagged With: birthdays, milestones, pinkalicious 3 Comments

Linking up today for Kelly’s Korner Show Us Your Life for Kid’s Birthday Parties.
One of our favorite kid’s birthday parties we have ever thrown was thanks to Miss E loving the Pinkalicious book, my idea to get the party planning rolling and then handing off to my creative sister for her ideas and coordination of a fabulously pink bash. I ordered the above doll on Amazon as Miss E’s birthday gift.
In early December amidst our Christmas decor, my sister made pink tissue paper decorations and hung them from the ceiling. It was a Martha Stewart idea she brought to life.
We used pink glass dishes I have from my great-grandma as decorations. Miss E and I bought pink treats like ring pops, pink marshmallows, jelly beans, candy canes, pink Jello Jigglers and more.
We had pink lemonade with raspberry ginger ale in it to drink, complete with a pink poinsettia as decor.
I even had pink hair (which my sister ordered for us) and read the Pinkalicious book to all the girls and moms that attended.
My sister staged and set up the table and party. I had given her a set budget and she came in under budget. Most the supplies were from Oriental Trading, our local grocery store or things we had on hand.
We had one very pleased and happy Princess Pinkalicious as she turned 3 years old.
Miss E and I made Pinkalicious cupcakes for each attendee and also had a cake made for her.
Miss E and Miss A had matching pink out fits from SheSheMade.
Plus every little girl and mom wore pink to the Pinkalicious party.
Now what are we going to do this year?
Miss A’s 2nd birthday is July 1. I can’t wait to get some fun ideas and hopefully my sister the party planner extraordinaire will be up for task again.
What’s your favorite kids birthday party idea?

My daughter had a crazy bowling party one year that was attended by her 2nd grade class. A great time was had by all. This party for your daughter is just too precious. Your sister really did a fantastic job.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
