Chicken Bacon Ranch & BBQ Chicken Pizzas

Filed Under: Lunch, Proteins, Recipes Tagged With: bacon, cooking, meat, pizza, protein 7 Comments

We don’t have McDonald’s within 90 miles of us on the prairie but we do have pizza. Friday nights are often pizza nights at our house. Sometimes it is from one of our two local pizza shops. Often I make pizza at home though for the sake of cost. Our hungry like a pack of wolves teenager eats a pizza…by himself….

The Greatest Oxymoron of My Digital Life

Filed Under: Family Values, Small Town Living Tagged With: family business, Pinke Homes, small business owners 18 Comments

For four plus years I have been hiding a secret in the digital world. I’ve officially dubbed it as “the greatest oxymoron of my digital life.” Professionally for over ten years I have worked in marketing and communications. I am a lover of all things digital. I speak, train, strategize and plan with groups, coalitions and businesses. I work alongside…

I saw a National Geographic statistic today that said 70% of the us will be living in cities by 2050. That leaves us 30% of the kick back and enjoy life on the last frontier of tranquility of rural. These were just captures I snapped when we went for a short Sunday night drive with the girls. When the sun…

What’s A Girl To Do? A Halloween Potty Training Lesson

Filed Under: Family Values Tagged With: family, family fun, holidays 8 Comments

What’s a girl to do on Halloween on the prairie? Dressing up like Strawberry Shortcake, cowgirl style with boots and her sidekick a strawberry seemed like the thing to do yesterday.  Miss A was rocking her strawberry costume as a potty trained two year old. Her mama should have thought that through a little more but we were having so…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
