3 year old’s Salute on Veteran’s Day Video

Filed Under: Family Values Tagged With: family, kids, motherhood 4 Comments

Miss E has a salute on Veteran’s Day to share with you in honor of all veterans but especially her Grandpa Eldon and her Great-Grandpa Sonny. She learned this tribute with the teaching and helping of Lori, our famed daycare provider and wanted “have a show” to perform it this morning. Welcome to her 48 second Veteran’s Day show… I’ve…

Wind Tower Sunrise Hope

Filed Under: Life in North Dakota Tagged With: North Dakota, prairie, prairie life, rural life 4 Comments

Welcome to my sanctuary of solitude. If I stopped for every sunrise and sunset I watch on the prairie, I wouldn’t get anywhere. There are a lot miles in between…anywhere on the prairie. But the skyline is my reward for the miles driven. It’s like no other I have ever known. Tonight as I drove home from the airport I…

WW w/ linky: In the chaos I forget…

It’s Wordless or Wordy Wednesday. I’ll keep it short today as I’m in need of quick sleep before an early morning breakfast meeting and then a short panel presentation…on two of my favorite topics farming and food. I’m in the midst of a 48 hour work trip. It’s chaotic these days with a very jammed packed 14 year old’s school,…

Treasure Hunting with a 3 year old

Filed Under: Life in North Dakota, Motivated Moms Tagged With: being a mom, motherhood, motivated moms, prairie life 9 Comments

I live 100 miles from a shopping mall but that doesn’t mean we can’t find treasures on the rural prairie. Early Saturday morning, Miss E and I got up in the dark and were out the door before sunrise. We didn’t drive to a mall. We weren’t dressed in blaze orange to kick off deer hunting like the few others…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
