This afternoon, we opened the regional basketball tournament against the #3 ranked team in the state and they were undefeated. Our fans from each town were in the stands but also fans from area towns gathered. It’s the beauty of small town sports. I played big town high school sports. There wasn’t the broad based community support in my experience…

A peek into our normal week

My sister over at LovelyLaLaLand has a weekly feature from her photo a day project for 2012. I love what she captures and highlights. I realized I take at least a photo every day but am not nearly as artistic or creative with my photos as her. I can’t comprehend being so organized to upload them to the blog. But…

Life is stressful at times when you are a teenager. One of those stresses at our house for our teenager is the annual science fair. You have to choose your project, get yourself organized, plan, find time to get your procedures established, do your testing, analysis and final report. There is a lot more in between to get done. Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
