I have 878 blog posts to choose from since 4 years ago when I started blogging. That is a crazy number but I have done it for my family, for my love of food and farming and for my sanity. My kids don’t have baby books but they have this blog. This 2010 blog post is a favorite. All of…

2009 Blog Revisit: If You Run Out of Gas On The Prairie

Filed Under: Motivated Moms Tagged With: blogger, bogging, why I blog 6 Comments

Leading up to my 4 years of blogging on December 4th…I am reminded by this 2009 post that part of the reason I blog is to document the working mom chaos that I often live and to remind myself to not take things too seriously. It also reminds me that when I get in trouble…as I long as I can…

Tonight’s kick off of the season was 30 miles away in the gym my mother-in-law grew up in and where Nathan played against his cousins…back in the 80’s and 90’s. His cousin Kevin is now the head coach for the…

Life Lesson: Don’t Cry Over Broken Ornaments

Filed Under: Family Values, Motivated Moms Tagged With: being a mom, family, holidays, mommy guilt, motherhood, working mom 7 Comments

Do you ever hear a crash literally or figuratively and panic? Sometimes I mentally crash and know I have too much to do and need to keep going…and panic at that feeling. Then there are the literal crashes. I hit a big whitetail deer last winter while driving one early morning by myself. I panicked but survived just fine. I…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
