The Need For Family Vacations

Filed Under: Family Values Tagged With: Disney Vacation, family, family fun, vacation 2 Comments

Is there a need for families to take vacations together? My parents used to take my siblings and me on family vacations. We traveled by a 1976 Winnebago, by mini-van, by train and plane at different times. Often the trips were planned around visiting relatives, seeing historical landmarks or sights, visiting National Parks with a few of my dad’s business…

A Tribute To Our Favorite St. Patrick’s Birthday Boy

St. Patrick’s Day isn’t just an Irish celebration for us. It’s Nathan’s birthday. My non-social media husband won’t be getting messages on Facebook or Twitter today. But I am here with a flood of photos of him from the past year to reflect on all that he means to us. And we are spending a family fun day together before…

13 Things That Make A Magical Disney Vacation

Anna and Elsa from the new Disney hit movie Frozen are new princess stars. We are NOT standing in line to meet them but got a few close looks in the Fantasyland Parade and also from the gift shop in Norway in Epcot. As I write this, we are vacation. The Gift Of A Sister

Filed Under: Family Values Tagged With: family 2 Comments

27 years ago today was a happy and joyous day. I finally had a sister. I had waited first for a brother. He was pretty awesome, arriving a couple of years prior. But a sister? To be my friend? To be just like me? I was overjoyed to have a sister.  Although you probably can’t tell in the midst of…

Do You Read Blogs To Learn About Agriculture? A Short Survey For You

Filed Under: America's Farm Table Tagged With: agriculture, family farm, survey Leave a Comment

Do you read blogs to learn about agriculture? I blog about agriculture like the pinto beans we grow and the food choices I am thankful for as a mom. My mom blogs daily from our GriggsDakota family farm. Creating relevant content that resonates with non-agriculture audiences is important to us. If you read any blogs about agriculture, Texas Tech University has…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
