Fort building is back

I opened an email today from Hunter’s teacher and a smile spread across my face. The email said “Found the boys’ fort when we picked up garbage today. Had to take a picture!” Hunter is in the shadow of branches in the back wearing the brown sweat shirt. It does not look like they boys are doing much garbage pick…

Grandpa Eldon, Grandma Carol, Elizabeth Carolyn Jane and Hunter James just before Grandma’s birthday gift opening Miss E’s latest…praying. She tells us to pray by announcing “Hunta PAY, Dada PAY, Mama PAY, Nana PAY, Boppa PAY!” In order to pray, she must see your hands folded. Otherwise she will keep after you until you PAY. Baseball, sweatshirts and wearing orange

Gpa Fred and Mama Jane made a road trip to visit us. It’s a long two lane highway trek to get from their farm to our home and we are always thrilled when they arrive. Hunter and Grandpa Fred spent Sunday afternoon playing baseball together. Summer baseball practice for Hunter does not begin for a month but Hunter is playing…

Elizabeth would prefer to be outside all the time. And Hunter can’t get enough baseball time. He also has had his first two sessions of the Hunter’s Safety course this week. A class…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
