Gpa Fred and Mama Jane made a road trip to visit us. It’s a long two lane highway trek to get from their farm to our home and we are always thrilled when they arrive. Hunter and Grandpa Fred spent Sunday afternoon playing baseball together. Summer baseball practice for Hunter does not begin for a month but Hunter is playing every day. Grandpa Fred loves baseball and as you can see wearing his every day attire of jeans and cowboy boots was hitting for Hunter to field. Our little town will have just enough players to field a pee wee team. Hunter is campaigning more of his classmates to play baseball. Many “farm kids” do not play summer baseball as they live in rural areas, cannot always get rides into town for practice and are busy helping on their family farms and ranches.
There is something very unique and special about a small town baseball team. There are no try outs or cuts. Come out for baseball and you are on the team. They all believe they can achieve greatness because a few small town North Dakotans have achieved big time dreams in the Major Leagues.

Miss E has her Daddy and Auntie K’s allergies. We have discovered spring is not going to be her favorite season. Once things green up hopefully the mold and dust outside won’t bother her as much as it is these days. Living in the windiest county in the windiest state does not help her allergies. Regardless she wants to be outside all the time and could not pass up the opportunity to watch Hunter and Gpa Fred playing.
My mother doesn’t love being photographed and certainly not being posted to the blog often. However, I love the sweatshirts we are wearing. Yes they have a cow (specifically a Polled Hereford…breeds matter to cattle folk)..and wheat on them. They represent the family farm which has been a part of our family for five generations in North Dakota, since my mom’s descendants got off the boat from Norway and homesteaded in eastern North Dakota.
My mom had the sweat shirts embroidered for every family member on her side of the family and we each received it as a gift for Christmas. So cousins, aunts and uncles unite–send me your pictures wearing the family sweat shirt as I would like to include them in an annual family calendar for the upcoming year for Gma Nola and Gpa Sonny.
And this photo is for all of my blogger friends who are praying for Stellan today as he is in surgery this morning at Boston’s Children’s hospital. For those of you not following Stellan’s blog…everyone praying for Stellan today is wearing orange. Even Baby Pinke on the prairie of North Dakota is sporting orange. Some of you know I am not a frequent photographer of my baby belly. I think there are two pictures of me pregnant with Hunter and a few more of Elizabeth. And today here is Baby Pinke at 28 weeks, close up and personal, wearing orange for Baby Stellan and praying for a miracle today for him to be healed.

I wore my orange today for Stellan. We added him to our prayers when I first read about him in your blog and have been praying ever since.
Happy Spring!
