Chapter 1 from our weekend: Basketball Wrap Up

Filed Under: Family Values, Motivated Moms, Small Town Sports Tagged With: athletics, family, sports, travel, working mom Leave a Comment

Early this morning, I downloaded 84 pictures from my camera onto my computer. All the pictures were taken in a 48 hour timeframe this past weekend. Keep in mind, this blog is our family scrapbook and I try to document our activities on here.  I am not the mom going to the Scrap N’ Stay weekend resort. I do not…

Happy 35th wedding anniversary to my parents today! (And for you Norwegians…it is Syttende Mai too!) I pulled out a couple archived photos of my parents with all four of their kids…Kirsti, Robbie, Joe and me plus Hunter, the first grandchild.  You can click here and see a few archived photos from decades ago of my parents.  Please look so you can…

Juggling Mother

Filed Under: Family Values, Motivated Moms Tagged With: family, kids, motherhood, travel, working mom 4 Comments

I am running on empty this morning, trying to juggle the many balls in our life. I know that I have a tremendous capacity to take on a lot and manage to keep on the balls in the air.  The balls in our life are many.  The working, traveling mama is the biggest ball I am trying to manage right…

American Girl Doll Store Visit

Filed Under: Misc., Motivated Moms Tagged With: family, travel, working mom 1 Comment

A long, long time ago…in the 1980’s, I was given an original Pleasant Company American Girl doll, Molly. This was long before the American Girl doll line had been purchased by Mattel and exploded across the nation. My sister also had a Kirsten doll as a young girl. I think for Kirsti’s high school graduation party she actually put her…

Basketball on the brain

Filed Under: Family Values, Small Town Sports Tagged With: athletics, family, sports Leave a Comment

We spent a Mother Day’s weekend watching Hunter play basketball. (I am having formatting issues on this post…please excuse them.) This was an especially fun trip because we brought my grandparents with us and were able to visit my uncle, aunt and cousins, Wyatt and Logan. The Heat won in overtime on two bonus free throws Hunter made in the first game. …

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
