Juggling Mother

Filed Under: Family Values, Motivated Moms Tagged With: family, kids, motherhood, travel, working mom 4 Comments

I am running on empty this morning, trying to juggle the many balls in our life.
I know that I have a tremendous capacity to take on a lot and manage to keep on the balls in the air.
The balls in our life are many.
The working, traveling mama is the biggest ball I am trying to manage right now.
Plus we have the balls of…
Hard working business owning daddy
Busy twelve year old boy
Strong willed two year old
Growing baby girl
A house that needs cleaning
Bills that need paying
Laundry that needs folding
Closets that need organized
A garden yet to be created much less planted
Volunteering
Exercising
Bible Study that I have bought but never started
Friends to visit
Family to visit
A sister whose wedding is in two weeks
In-laws who will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary in one week
Parents who will celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary in three days
Walks to be taken
Parks to be played at
Lawn to be mowed
Blogging
I certainly cannot list all the balls of life I am juggling right now on this blog…or I will let another one drop.
While it might seem on the outside like I am keeping it all together and juggling the balls with out too many glitches. I am dashing from one ball to the next, feeling like I am leaping across a tightrope to catch the next ball. Once in awhile a ball drops but it is usually one that I let drop…like paying the bills or laundry. Thankfully for electronic bill pay and my helpful husband the bills and laundry balls can be handed off after they have dropped.
The truth is I hate letting balls drop.

I like keeping them all in the air and even adding a few more to the mix. It adds to the excitement of our life. But today I am letting one ball drop and that is doing a blog post with pictures of our kids as I normally would do on early weekday morning.
Instead I am taking the day off from work, turning off my computer, drinking plenty of coffee, feeding my kiddos breakfast, keeping the girls at home with me as Hunter goes off to school, folding some clothes, packing our bags for a weekend away and then loading up the stroller with the girls to go watch Hunter at his spring track meet, his last of elementary school.
So please excuse me for dropping the blog ball. I will be back on Monday. Are you juggling the many balls of life like me right now?
Go ahead let one…or three drop today. Then keep your mommy ball going and take your kiddos to the park while relishing in the joys that juggling brings.

No one counts the balls other than you. So i guess that means no one else knows if their in the air or on the ground!

Enjoy today. And whichever balls you choose to keep up in the air…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
