Saving for college vs. Feeding my family

Filed Under: America's Farm Table, Family Values, Motivated Moms Tagged With: agriculture, family, food, where my food comes from 8 Comments

I shared yesterday about feeding our hungry like a pack of wolves teenager. The family food budget is big portion of our monthly budget. But another pressing item on our budget is saving for college. The reality is in five years, I won’t be 40 years old and will have a child graduating from high school.  How are we going…

Hunk of Meat Monday: Fast & Easy Chicken in a Bag

Filed Under: Proteins Tagged With: chicken in a bag, cooking, hunk of meat Monday, protein 8 Comments

As the weather warms, I spend less time in the kitchen and more time outside after work playing with the kids. One of my fast, easy and affordable meals to feed my family on nights like this are Gold N’ Plump Chickens that come seasoned and cook in a bag.  I stock up on the chickens when they go on…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
