When The New Chapter Brings Light Instead of Darkness

Filed Under: Motivated Moms Tagged With: working mom 13 Comments

Today marks a new chapter. I’m already driving down the prairie highway or maybe I am sitting in my new office. Either way after 10 years of my previous working mom career today is the first day of a new chapter. I’ve had new chapters before in life. When new chapters of life begin they often occur under circumstances beyond…

It’s a new year and new start. Happy 2012! I came across a video late last night that I have to share this morning. For 20 plus years, my parents owned and operated a small advertising agency. One of our largest clients was McDonald’s. My dad and employees did regional advertising and promotions for McDonald’s across the upper midwest US. Source Google…

Farm Girl Friday: A Caring Cattleman & 2 Cowgirls

Filed Under: America's Farm Table, Family Values Tagged With: agriculture, family, family farm, Farmgirl Friday, farming 11 Comments

My parents, grandparents and uncle at GriggsDakota now have fresh fallen snow but we remain snow free in our corner of the “southern” North Dakota prairie. Have you been in food coma like me for the past weeks? I have been blissfully eating my way through December. I always have great goals of self discipline, dreams of limiting my caloric intake at holiday parties and feasts. But I am a lover of food.  I find new foods I love every year. My brother made Panna Cotta for…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
