Ethan came to visit

If you remember back to December, I threw a baby shower for my friend Katie LaBree. She and her husband welcomed their first child, a son named Ethan Henry on my BIRTHDAY in early January. Katie and Ethan came over for a visit while my mom, sister Kirsti and brother Joe visited this past weekend. Katie and I decided Ethan…

Total whiteout conditions

Doesn’t Elizabeth look like a real toddler in this pic? Cheese in hand, sweater misbuttoned and she was only sitting still in her brother’s lap for less than 30 seconds to eat. Hunter still has the infamous wire holding his teeth together from his accident last week. We’ll learn tomorrow from the dentist what are the next steps and most…

Happy Birthday Kirsti! I went back into the vault and found a few pics from Kirsti in high school… A little family history, Kirsti (pronounced Key-r-ste) is named after our Great-Great Grandmother Kirsti from Norway. She was a pioneer woman who homesteaded in North Dakota, farming and raising six children after her husband passed away. She never did speak English….

First hair cut

Filed Under: Misc. Tagged With: milestones Leave a Comment

As much I was trying to grow out Elissa’s bangs, she advised against it by pulling out the multiple rubber bands, hair clips, etc. that I put in her hair each morning. She pulls them out with her hair still attached. I was afraid she would end up with a bald spot from the constant pulling. On Wednesday after school…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
