Remember Your First (awkward) School Dance?

I am the mother of a teenage boy. I was asked by a friend in August near Hunter’s 13th birthday if my blogging about him would decrease in his teenage years.  I hadn’t really thought about it until she asked.  Parenting a teenage…let’s face it…is not easy and blogging about it will be therapy for me at times I think!…

Cheeseburger Soup

At my small town wedding shower that was held in my hometown church basement…four years ago…everyone attending was asked to bring a favorite recipe.  It gave me a box of recipes from all the local ladies, family members and friends who I love dearly and most importantly regarding the recipes, they all can cook. Last week I was reminded of…

Our Boy of Fall

Unless you haven’t been reading this blog, you know that every Monday night this fall, Hunter has a junior high football game. It has become our late chaotic afternoon routine to get to his 5PM game. My Monday work day gets condensed and crammed to get out the door to pick up the girls and thankfully I have been able to…

We were cleaning up the kitchen after supper.  Anika was still in her high chair.  Elizabeth wanted to work on her “project” which had been a mix of markers, water color paints and pipe cleaners she had been working on all weekend. Half of her project was on the dining room table and the other half was spread across on…

For the past two Tuesday nights for a couple hours at our local public school’s computer lab, a small group of women joined me for our first ever community education class in our North Dakota prairie town. We touched on why to engage in social media and then learned about a few social media out posts. Then it was time…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
