Whole-Wheat Lemon Almond Pancakes

Filed Under: Breakfast, Recipes Tagged With: breakfast, brunch, easy family meal, grains, morning meals, recipe 3 Comments

Almost once a week, we make pancakes for either Sunday brunch or a family supper. I have numerous variations of pancakes. The most recent being Lemon Almond with Blackberries. I have switched to only using white whole wheat flour in pancakes. Sometimes I also add a couple of tablespoons of ground flax seed. The healthy benefits are fantastic and no…

Tonight is our local FFA banquet. I am reposting from last April below after I attended our first local FFA banquet. This past year, our son has grown as a person because of our local FFA program. Tonight he will recite the FFA Creed which he has practiced and last fall won in the district competition. In June, he will…

How to make and tie scarves

Filed Under: Motivated Moms Tagged With: family, fashion, motherhood, working mom 4 Comments

My GriggsDakota mom is a genius. She can out do Martha Stewart any day. This winter she took on making scarves for my sister, my soon-to-be sister-in-law and me. You can find me wearing a scarf just about any day. They add color, flare and dress up my clothes. They also practically keep me warm on the prairie. My mom…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
