Play house

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

Who really needs a play house when you can empty out the corner cabinet and crawl around on the lazy susan like a merry-go-round? Side note: Has anyone noticed that Elizabeth likes to pull out her hair ties and barrettes and go with the shaggy look? Not to worry today she is still wearing a puffy pink hair bow that…

Fort building

Boys like to build forts. Even 11 year old big boys. Snow forts are most common in the winter. Tree forts in the summer. Indoor forts work too. Last weekend Hunter gathered up quilts and blankets and random chairs and built a fort in his room–and SLEPT in it overnight. Because that is what boys do. Sleep on hard flooring…

Big girl puddin’ eatin’

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

I remember drinking pudding when I was pregnant with Hunter. And tonight I had one of those pudding cravings so I made some instant, sugar-free pistachio pudding. Instead of eating (or drinking)the whole batch myself, I shared. Of course I didn’t really eat mine. I was trying to feed Elizabeth some and share. Not her idea. She took over and…

Today Elizabeth Carolyn Jane is 14 months old…she is a toddler. Busy, a chatter box and very sure she is in charge. And Hunter is busy too. He practices piano, trumpet and goes to school early to shoot baskets. Over the next few weekends he has a jammed packed schedule, playing in a couple basketball tournaments with his former classmates…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
