Ringing in the new year

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

Hunter was quite thrilled to ring in the new year because he actually didn’t have to go to bed at “midnight in New York” this year. Since I was a young child my parents had the New Year’s Eve festivities end when the ball dropped in NYC on television. And we had adopted that rule for Hunter. But that is…

Anika Iris, 6 months

Anika Iris, 6 months January 1, 2010 Happy New Year! It is hard to believe Anika Iris is 6 months already. We are celebrating the New Year holiday at the farm with my family but I wanted to continue our 1st of the month tradition of Anika and her “hop hop” bunny pictures. Anika weighs about 17.5 lbs. now and…

Our boy at Christmases past

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

As I was searching through old USB drives this morning looking for our Christmas card mailing list…(my goal is to get all cards done by the 12th day of Christmas…my birthday) I found a few scanned in photos from Hunter at Christmases past. Five, ten and twelve years ago. The oldest photos are scanned in weird from an old scanner so you will need…

Generations of friendly visits

Thirty years ago my parents upgraded their home and bought a rambler on cozy and quiet street, Cherry Lynn Drive. A few houses down the street a young family of five lived. They attended our local church. Their daughter was two years older than me and they had twin baby boys just six months younger than me. My mom and their mom…

Her first BMW

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

Last night we finally ventured out of the house for the first time since Wednesday morning. We drove a few blocks to Nana (Gma Carol) and Gpa Eldon’s house, driving past Hunter’s school on the way to see a snow drift over a door entrance and touching the roof. There were a few more presents still unopened at Gma and…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
