Our boy at Christmases past

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

As I was searching through old USB drives this morning looking for our Christmas card mailing list…(my goal is to get all cards done by the 12th day of Christmas…my birthday) I found a few scanned in photos from Hunter at Christmases past. Five, ten and twelve years ago. The oldest photos are scanned in weird from an old scanner so you will need to scroll down a bit to see all three photos.
2004, when all Hunter wanted for Christmas was his two front teeth. Those blue eyes, freckles and toothless grin (with fresh blood from just pulling out his tooth) absolutely melt me.
Above is our Christmas card when Hunter was two years old…like Elizabeth is now. Our big boy once was little! Hunter called those shoes “fast” and he had to wear them all the time so he can run fast. This continued with many pairs of shoes for years. We have to above picture framed and hanging in the upstairs hallway between Hunter’s bedroom and bathroom. It is an all-time favorite. Note: I would NEVER wear that beautiful floral dress now but I loved it in 1999.
And below is Hunter at his first Christmas when he was Anika’s age. He was so smiley and a happy baby. We called him “Angel Baby” and I call Anika that now. Again, adorable baby boy. Note: My bangs and sweater in the below picture scream 1997. Looking back at these pictures quickly reminded just how quickly the years go by and to cherish each Christmas and moment we have with our kids!

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
