Blogging Friends Become Real Life Friends

Filed Under: Life in North Dakota Tagged With: friendship, girlfriends, North Dakota, prairie, prairie women, rural life 4 Comments

I started blogging to document our prairie life and growing family nearly three years ago. After two weeks of a private blog, I have had some blogging reflection time. As I have said before, blogging has opened my mind, my eyes and world from the prairie corner of North Dakota that I live on with my family to a big but…

What Do We Teach Our Kids About Corn?

Filed Under: America's Farm Table, Family Values Tagged With: agriculture, family, family farm, farming 2 Comments

The private blog setting is not working well for me. I have 47 private blog readers and if we need to go private again those readers will continue to access the blog with their log-in. I am not sure what the future of the Pinke Post fully entails but for today we are public. The girls discovered a glorious corn…

ReImagine Rural: How about a little Twitter with that Sauerkraut?

Filed Under: Life in North Dakota, Small Town Living Tagged With: rural development, social media 3 Comments

One passion both Nathan and I share that we did not know we even had within us until we moved to the prairie is rural development. Economic growth.  Job creation.  Sustaining what we have.  Maintaining our school.  Promoting our community and our strengths.  Laying the groundwork for a future on the prairie.  Growing. The newest appointed school board member? That…

And Starting At Guard…

Today Miss A and I were in Bismarck for her belated 15 month immunizations and visit to Dr. Kozel. Above is a picture of Nathan and Miss A in the park recently. A strong resemblance?  A is a growing and happy toddler that checked out perfectly healthy, exceeding all of the “milestones”.  Other than only having 2 teeth we have…

Sisterly Weekend Fun (With Lots of Lipstick)

Filed Under: Family Values, Motivated Moms Tagged With: kids, motherhood, raising a family 2 Comments

Miss AIK is now 15 1/2 months old and independently active. She quietly moves about the house but is always on the go, most often trying to keep up with her sister. She loves playing in the pretend kitchen with the play food along with the many babies and stuffed animals that Miss E and she mother together. A jabbers…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
