Richly rewarding life & bound for Blogher 12′

Filed Under: Family Values, Motivated Moms Tagged With: working mom 10 Comments

Real life has been all consuming this year. But it is the most richly rewarding time in my life. This week had a few bumps, like strep throat and ear infections at our house. But even so our work and jobs are fulfilling and in between that we have had our sectional baseball tournament in our small town for the past three days.

The little sisters have been loyal fans for the past few days. I needed to make bars for the concession stand one night after a game we won that went extra innings.

The girls played sleepover in the living bar while I baked bars. I wish I could bottle up moments like sleepovers with their babies because I realize someday the girls will be as big as their brother, batting at home.

After exciting wins, our boys ended the season tonight with a loss. Hunter loves baseball more than football, more than track and field and less than basketball. He’s a sports loving kid. As one season ends, another one begins.

The baseball field will be empty after the championship is played by two other teams tomorrow and in just weeks we’ll become fall football fans. The summer seems to be already waining and it is still July.

7 Layer Bars, a sweetly richly rewarding bars I made for the baseball tournament

We are going to soak in the sweet moments and enjoy this richly rewarding life. See how the kids have been enjoying harvest on the GriggsDakota farm. Next up is to enjoy some family down time this weekend at our local prairie lake.

After a weekend of family time and a couple days of work next week,  I am going to travel to Blogher 12′ in New York City with three blogger friends, Leah, Nancy and Aimee. Look for updates and certainly some girlfriend fun to be shared. I never dreamed blogging would lead me to this network of people that broadens my thinking, educates, enriches, connects and shares with me. I’m embarking to Blogher 12′ to expand my horizons, soak in some speakers, take in the city and celebrate friendship.

Happy weekend!

Oh honey you had me before but the bars are my ALL TIME FAVORITE. I make them every time I can but with my own twist….no nuts, use Heath toffee chips, and I cheat and use a graham cracker pie crust. Still yummo! 🙂

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
