Real life weekend

Filed Under: Family Values, Motivated Moms Tagged With: family, travel, working mom 2 Comments

Blogging takes the back seat to real life and real life has been keeping us busy the last few days. Here are a few unedited snap shots and captures from our whirlwind weekend. I’ll share later this week the special connection we had to friends in the stands this past weekend. It was unique and a surreal moment when lifelong friends gathered to watch our teenager play traveling team basketball in central Minnesota.

Miss A, Miss E, Hunter, my mom and me traveled to St. Cloud on Friday evening.

Hunter played two games on Saturday and two games on Sunday.

The best part of the weekend was family and friend moments but Hunter’s team put the icing on the weekend yesterday afternoon by winning the tournament championship.

My lifelong best friend, Sara, lives nearby and she and her oldest son joined us yesterday afternoon. There was a park across the street from the gym for the kids.

My sister-in-law, Lori aka Auntie Lori also lives in St. Cloud. Miss E sat with her during games yesterday and Miss A had a sleep over with her on Saturday night. Auntie Lori and my mom took the girls to a trampoline park on Saturday afternoon while I drove Hunter early to his first game. It was a rainy day and the jumping wiped the girls out so much they slept through most of the first basketball game.

I drove home last night. Actually I sped home last night. The girls slept. My mom and I visited. We stopped quick for McDonald’s drive thru for our hungry like a pack of wolves teenager. Nathan stayed home to work for the weekend and greeted us with a smile. The new week has kicked off with out much rest for the travel weary. But we are thrilled with the fun we had in our whirlwind weekend.

What’s on your calendar this week? I’m off to speak at an agri-tourism conference today for work which makes me excited. I would love to see the prairie dotted with little start up businesses. You can come visit!

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
