While my husband is taking his 10 minute power nap on his quick lunch break, I am blogging from my home office lunch break to get Chapter 2 of our wild weekend adventure up for you. After a 400 miles one way road trip on Friday afternoon/evening, we spent two nights at the largest indoor water park in America.
The water park was a great venue for us to meet our friends Nancy & Casey and their kids from Iowa, provided entertainment for the kids aged 10 months, 2 year old girls, 4 year old boy, 7 year old boy & 12 year old boy. I cannot think of any other indoor location that we could keep all ages happy, truly enthused for hours…days if we could have let them.

While Miss E learned to go down the perfect sized slide for her two year old self, her sister slept amongst the chaotic noise of the park. Does it really surprise you Anika slept? It shouldn’t. She is our dream baby after all. E probably went down this slide 50 times or more. Maybe we can fundraise to get one at our local prairie pool?
Note: Our girls were wearing ONE-PIECE swim suits. They were a minority. Since when do all girls and women of all ages and sizes wear bikinis to a water park? This is not the beach in Mexico. This is a Minneapolis, Minnesota water park.
While napping, Anika observed modesty by wearing a swim suit cover up over her suit.
The boys discovered the fast-moving family raft which had a long line but the big boys aka the Daddy’s were happy to take the boys. The young boys will be talking about how much their dads weigh and how fast that made their raft zoom down the slides until we get back there to go again.
Daddy and Miss E rested after a ride down the lazy river. E and I also rafted down the lazy river. I have a nice purple bruise on my inner thigh to show for my failed attempt to smoothly get out of the raft. Not smooth. Not athletic. Thankfully Dr. Casey came to save me in three feet of water.
Sweet baby Anika woke from her nap to enjoy some splashing time of her own…in her one-piece swimsuit but no rides down the slides or lazy river…yet. That will happen soon enough.
Water Park of America…we will be back to enjoy you again soon despite your overpriced not so tasty food and your obnoxiously dressed patrons in their skimpy swim suits, we cannot find an indoor water park anywhere that comes close to your fun factor for kids. Plus our weather is not so nice and you provide a great outlet to play in water during the nine months of the year we cannot on the frozen tundra. Next time we will pack more of our own food and bring swim suit cover-ups to hand out to all those bikini wearing young pre-teen/ teen girls while covering our son’s eyes. I am sure those girls will appreciate my vote for modesty.

Your blog just keeps getting cuter! It was fun to see you and Sara with all your kiddos on her blog the other day!

Thanks Carrie! I have a new computer and have lost my link to your blog. Please let me know. Sara used to have links on her blog and they aren’t there anymore either. Hope you are doing well in Arkansas.

Your swimsuit comments cracked me up. I was just shopping over the weekend for a new swimsuit for Lauren and was blown away by the skimpiness of little girl suits. After much digging I was finally able to find a plain ole’ one piece without the sides cut out, or weird tops that were made for women AND not little girls. Sheesh. Sounds like you guys had a great and busy weekend!

I totally agree with your swimsuit comments. Why is it that little girls have to have 2 piece suits? I never did and neither will my little girl. Looks like you had a fun time though.

Cute post! The water park looks so fun…I want to go! Tho all the kids would probably think I was the “beached whale” attraction! 😉
