Artist in residence

Our cheesy grinned artist in residence
At 8AM this morning, we dropped off Hunter with his back pack, basketball bag and trumpet at school. He will be taking the bus to his game after school and we will drive to watch. After the school drop off,  the girls and I went to the flower shop, grocery store and stopped at the lumber yard. By 9AM we were home and E needed some entertainment. On beautiful days like today, we spend as much time as possible outside in the mornings. Walks, playing at the park, playing house on the porch, etc. But this morning I needed to feed Anika, drink some coffee, put away groceries and organize to make something in the crock-pot so we can eat dinner after we get home from Hunter’s game. Elissa’s entertainment for that time this morning was painting in her high chair.
They are “kid friendly” paints as it says on the packaging. Thankfully, because she painted her arms, hands and face at any moment I turned my head from her.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
