Coffee with K

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

On Monday afternoon, the girls and I met up with my sister Kirsti who was bringing our much missed Hunter back to us after from his long working weekend at the farm. Can you see the grease stains on his black t-shirt? Probably not. But his jeans were covered and he was proud.
I suggested we meet at a favorite coffee house, assuming it would be quiet on a holiday. Thankfully it was until we arrived. Hunter and Elizabeth both had Italian sodas. Kirsti and I sipped our iced lattes. Then E did some racing and sqealing around the place. And she went to the public bathroom twice. She did use it properly but we learned she was most interested in the automatic hand dryers.
Taking a group photo used to be easier than it is these days! It is always an event.
Anika just takes it all in with little to no fuss. And she is used to her sister being a live wire and her brother laughing hysterically at it all.
Some things 12 year old boys just have to try. Like what a strawberry Italian soda and a nonfat latte taste like combined. Not yummy. But again, you have to try. Just to know.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
