The farm dog needed water

Filed Under: America's Farm Table, Family Values Tagged With: agriculture, family, family farm, farm, farming 3 Comments

We arrived at my parent’s farm last night. It was 96.8 degrees in the shade. Summer heat is finally here. With that heat came dry barley good enough to combine and Hunter got out to the field to get in on the first night of harvesting. He is back out there today, riding in the combine. Elizabeth is at house with Anika, Mama Jane and me. She has taken on the important job of making sure the dog and cats have plenty of water in this heat. And you can see she takes her duties quite seriously.

Mission accomplished.

Katie, I will have you know this is the 1st time I have ever commented on a blog!! I always thought I would spend too much time doing it. But now that I’m on FB, that theory is out the window!!! You have been blessed with such beautiful children and a wonderful hubby, thanks for sharing them!! I keep thinking you can’t be old enough but it was awhile ago when you babysat our kids, plus we had “Jophus” in 3 yr old Sunday School with Shaun!!!!! (That was what Shaun called him) Enjoy your visit with your family!!!!

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
