Sunday best

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

The girls were spent after church at the farm today but they were still bedazzling in their new matching outfits so we attempted a Sunday’s best photo. Tired but sweet faces with Daddy. Anika’s shoes never stay on but believe me…she did have black patent leather shoes on too…before the above photo was taken. This afternoon, Nathan trekked across the prairie…

Plumb full

Thanksgiving allowed me moments today to pause and be reminded of how fortunate our family is. Before layering my plate with food and eating so much I felt ill, I had a grateful and thankful heart that filled me with warm sense of love and peacefulness. We were surrounded by family (and missed a few of you too!) today. It was…

Big sister antics

Filed Under: Family Values Tagged With: family, sisters 1 Comment

Elizabeth woke up early from her nap on Saturday. Anika finally was taking a real nap in her crib. For about ten minutes I had both girls sleeping at the same time and was home in a quiet house. Miss E put on her tutu and turned on her music to dance and play in her bedroom. Our Busy Bits…

Wonderfully warm weekend

Winter tried to sneak its way onto the prairie in early October but November has been what we call Indian Summer. Amazingly warm. Indian Summer scared off Winter. What a gift! Today we spent the afternoon outside and were hot wearing sweatshirts and could wear t-shirts! But my plan ahead husband knows it soon will snow which actually bring smiles…

School spirit on the prairie

Yesterday I drove 90 miles to the northwest for Anika’s 4 month well-check and immunizations with our pediatrician in Bismarck. We left immediately after dropping off E at Lori’s daycare and Hunter at school. As we turned onto Highway 83, I noticed homemade signs tied to every highway sign. Clearly, the Linton Lions volleyball team is headed north to the…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
