The joys of growing little girls

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

It’s late and I have been working. But I love being in the quiet house where I know upstairs each of our kids are healthy, peaceful and sleeping. Plus another bedroom with a healthy, non-snoring husband who is fast asleep but surely has left a light for me (so much better than Motel 6 leaving the light for you). It isn’t often that…

A cuddly new baby boy

Filed Under: Misc. Tagged With: baby Leave a Comment

This morning I was able to visit cousin Mark and Sami and their newest addition, Taven Richard. Baby Taven was born late Tuesday night, 57 minutes shy of sharing the same birthday as me. But he had to come back to the hospital yesterday to spend some time under the bright lights. Before he went home today again with his…

Brutal cold science experiment

This morning it is -31F. Yes below zero. It is brutal cold. But our hearty son was out on the deck before 7AM doing a science experiment. (I told him to at least put on his hat and boots…he said I should NOT worry and that he would be quick.) Hunter boiled water in the microwave, put it into my…

Blue tongue to match her blue eyes

A blue sucker gave Elizabeth a blue tongue to match her blue eyes. And a blue smile…as a pink ballerina that does stunts on her sister’s baby walker.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
