If we drive sixty miles from our home, we do not reach a Wal-Mart, a Target or a shopping mall of any type. Sixty miles doesn’t get us to a Starbucks or even a McDonald’s. At times that aspect of prairie living can make me crazy. Other times we are grateful for our remote living. It forces us to spend…

Tears & a prairie walk after the rain

Filed Under: Life in North Dakota Tagged With: prairie life Leave a Comment

After a quick trip to California on business I am home today with all three kiddos. Our plan was to spend the morning outside playing and pack in the afternoon while the girls napped to get ready for a weekend of camping and fishing. Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
