Snowy Sunday Stroll

Filed Under: Family Values, Life in North Dakota Tagged With: family, prairie life 1 Comment

In case you missed any news headline this weekend, the Midwest is getting walloped with snow and frigid cold.  But we are hearty prairie dwellers.  Cold, snow, wind are the norms we succumb to each winter. I complain, kick and scream about the cold weather but it doesn’t seem to bother the rest of our clan.   Instead of getting pulled…

The Energy Of A "63" Year Old Beloved (Dog) Child

Filed Under: Family Values Tagged With: Charlie, dog child, family pets 2 Comments

He is not often blogged about but he is a cornerstone of our family. He was here long before I was in the picture and was even mentioned by our pastor in our wedding as being my husband’s best friend. We established a joint custody sort of agreement for him. He routinely lives with Nana and Gpa Eldon but comes…

Nana Made A Birthday Cake

Filed Under: Family Values Tagged With: birthdays, family, family fun, milestones 2 Comments

I am not much of a baker. But thankfully we have Nana down the road and around the corner. She made a fabulous Pinkalicious Cinderella birthday cake and brought it over last night. Grandpa Eldon was the scribe.  My parents also made the road trip for a family birthday party for Miss E.  Nana and the birthday girl One of…

Youth Group Kidnapping

Filed Under: Family Values, Life in North Dakota Tagged With: faith, prairie life 1 Comment

Our pastor called me late last week and gave me a tip that the youth group was going to do a kidnapping and mystery dinner to welcome the newest members to our church youth group which includes our 7th grade son.  We attend Nathan’s childhood church and our pastor came to the church when Nathan was in junior high. He…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
