Accolades for our small business & my husband

Filed Under: Family Values, Small Town Living Tagged With: family business, Pinke Homes, small business owners 4 Comments

Today in Prairie Business Magazine there is an article on 40 regional business leaders under the age of 40 from across North Dakota, South Dakota and western Minnesota. While I rarely toot the horn of my husband around this blog and he doesn’t like any “mushy stuff” as he often says, I have to brag. He is featured among the 40 recognized along with my friend Val Wagner. I will blog about Val’s accolades next week.

Nathan is a guy that gave up a flashy corporate sales management career to be a second generation small business owner on the North Dakota prairie. He is building and growing a business that anyone would be proud of and sets the bar high for other business owners to see as an example to follow.

Late last night we launched our Pinke Lumber Company business website and Facebook page. It took over a year for Nathan and me to get enough information to our consultant, Brenda. It’s a work in progress. But there is huge relief. The greatest oxymoron of my digital life is over today. I can finally say I practice what I preach! We are small business owners with digital space.

Considering the chaos of the year with hectic schedules, we will chalk these up as a major accomplishments. I am immensely proud of our prairie life and thankful for a hard working husband, family and small business.

Nathan needs to get over the “mushy” and stand very proud. A big accomplishment and a standing ovation from the west side here too! Great job to ALL because we know it takes the whole family to keep a family business going!

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
