My family traveled to our home on the prairie for Thanksgiving. We rarely ever take photos together as a group. But this year, both my sister and I had said we had to get out the tri-pod and capture a shot together. The meal preparations carried on the throughout the day as we waited for all to arrive. Football was watched. The meal was held in the evening with no hiccups. We relished in pecan pie, pumpkin pie and pumpkin cheesecake. As Uncle Jim stood up from the table to drive 166 miles home to check cows, I said, “WAIT! Our picture!”
Look closely. There was one very reluctant family picture participant. First she hid. Then she sobbed. I bribed her with a caramel, with no luck. Finally we just set the timer and let Miss A cry and scream.
She is three years old. And anyone who tells me about the Terrible Two’s, I will remind you of the Treacherous Three’s! Independent, full of zest for life and not always cooperative, Miss A made our family Thanksgiving picture memorable.
And we are thankful.
I hope you had quiet moments, memories with loved ones and a blessed Thanksgiving.
