WW Linky & Giveaway: Finally My Very Own Starbuck’s

Filed Under: Life in North Dakota Tagged With: North Dakota, prairie life, wordless Wednesday 12 Comments

I might live 97 miles from Starbuck’s. But there’s a new barista on the prairie. He has a brand new espresso maker of his own he received as a Christmas gift.

And thankfully this barista is married to me and makes me double shot lattes. Yesterday I had 3 of them to keep me going! Starting a new career chapter is a little exhausting these days.

But I never need to spend a penny at another coffee shop again. I’ll be sure to tip him for making me espressos shots for my extra boosts.

Our hometown team needed a little boost tonight too. I wish we could have given them all a few shots of espresso. But they pulled ahead late in the fourth quarter and beat Central Prairie.

It’s Wordless or Wordy Wednesday with a fun giveaway! Link up your post below and be sure to visit a few blogs. If you are a new follower please let me know. Each week this month I’m giving away 2 children’s books I love reading to my kids or a favorite new cookbook. Check back next week to see if you are a winner!

Congrats to The Green House for being last week’s linky winner. I’m sending her 2 of my favorite children’s books and very native to the prairie, P is for Peace Garden written by my friend Roxane and Levi’s Lost Calf written by my friend Amanda. Next week’s give away will be two new children’s books…or a cookbooks if you aren’t into kid’s books.

I look forward to visiting your blogs!

Believe it or not, I spent ~6 months as a barista in high school! I’m a woman of many skills!

I’m incredibly jealous, but my waistline is not. If I had easy access to that I’d probably be a little too liberal about it. Whew! Enjoy the new “toy” and having a husband who’s willing to brew espresso for you! Make sure he refines his tamping skillz. (Yes, with a z.)

Yea for your new homemade Starbucks coffee! What would we do without the simple pleasure of coffee and the boost of caffeine to get us started and keep us going?

    Katie,

Thank you so much for picking me for last week’s winner. Can’t wait to receive the books. I’m super jealous of your new toy! That would definitely be something to look forward to every morning. Enjoy it!

I’m still trying to decide if a coffee machine is worth it??? I just haven’t gotten into 4 bucks @ starbucks. I just drink the coffee with flavored creamer.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
