Miss E Turns 4 years old today

Filed Under: Family Values Tagged With: birthdays, family, milestones 8 Comments

Four years ago, I wrote my second ever blog post right here to announce the arrival of our Miss Elizabeth Carolyn Jane. She arrived early and made her big brother’s dreams come true as well as Nathan’s and mine of course.

Today she is proudly 4 years old. It doesn’t seem possible that time is going this fast. Miss E is a delight, often dramatic and quite the fancy little girl. She’s a little shy but once she warms up she never stops talking. She likes to give directions and has a hard time taking your directions at times. Her daddy and I both laugh at her strong personality. Each of our kids have it and they got it from us!

Yesterday I brought cupcakes to the home daycare younger sister Miss A and she attend with a few other friends. They ate pink “4” cupcakes. This morning I have arranged a plate full of donuts (that I bought last night at our one and only grocery store en route to Hunter’s game which the JV lost and Varsity won). I have 4 candles in the donuts for early riser Miss E to blow out this morning.

Tonight is our community’s Santa Day and our family lumberyard business is having an evening customer appreciation open house. Miss E will celebrate her birthday at the lumberyard and by getting sleigh rides at Santa Day at our local civic center.

Miss E is my most photographed child of our three kids. She loves the camera. She also had a scratch on her face in Disney World from her 2 year old sister last week. They are quite the team!

Happy Birthday to our Eloquent, Loving, Independent, Zippy, Athletic, Brave, Energetic, Tough and Happy 4 year daughter. Those adjectives stand for a letter in her first name and perfectly describe her. We are enlightened daily by Miss E!

Now I’m off to enjoy the early morning donuts with all of our family before work and school. I am also going to try to explain and rationalize with a 2 year old why her sister gets to have a birthday today and why it’s not her birthday until July. Oh the joys!

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
