Anika Iris, 4 months

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

Anika Iris is four months old today. These pictures were all taken today and are authentic four month old pictures!

Auntie Kirsti came this weekend to visit and also did some babysitting so Nathan and I could go out together. When Auntie K arrived Friday afternoon and saw Anika she said “You look like your Grandpa Eldon!” Anika accompanied us when Nathan and I went out for a dinner date Friday night with friends Eric and Paula to celebrate our wedding anniversary and Eric’s birthday.
Eric said “Anika sure looks like her Grandpa Eldon!”
She is definitely a Pinke girl!
Anika was wearing her “My First Halloween” jammies this morning. We gained an extra hour together this morning with the “turn back your clocks”. It made for a restful and relaxing Sunday morning.
Elizabeth is not quite herself with a yucky running nose and tough cough so the girls stayed home from church with Daddy. Hunter, Kirsti and I went to church.
Last night, both girls were Tigger for Halloween and Hunter was a “nerd”. Pictures tomorrow to follow of Halloween and pumpkin carving.
Anika has officially slept through the night now and has stretched her usual 4AM wake up time to feed until 5:30 and even 6AM. She goes to bed each evening between 8:30-9:30PM, wakes for her feeding in the early morning and then will sleep until after 8AM most days. It is wonderful!
She expresses her opinions more now and will let out a squawk of discontent if she is not happy. It is usually if I am not holding her when she wants me to be or she is having digestion discomfort, otherwise known as the need to burb or has gas. But 99.9% of the time, Anika still is the most content baby.
When we go later this month for Anika’s 4 month well check and immunizations I will update her stats of weight and length. One milestone that Anika has mastered is now rolling from her back to her tummy. She rolled from tummy to back in September. She is a rolling baby. This is the youngest I remember any of our kids rolling either way.
Anika is a true joy in our family. She makes happy coos and giggles now. Her voice is as sweet as she is. Anika is a much loved little sister by her big sister Elizabeth and definitely hangs the moon for her big brother Hunter.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
