Then the brave girl went over the park area, climbed up and went down the slide three times. We held our breath as this was the first time of sliding since the leg break when she was then sitting on her daddy’s lap on the slide. This time she wanted to be solo. And of course it was a few fun trips down the slide, no accidents or a leg break. We crossed that bridge now but will always be a little nervous watching our kids go down slides at the park! Just like monkey bars still make me jittery after babysitting my sister at the park at a young age while our dad was playing softball at the next field over from us and having her break her arm. And Hunter breaking his arm at age two only to have it set wrong and have an additional two casts on his arm which made for a long few months. Those memories stick with you and once in a while make me a nervous mommy.
Enjoy the glorious summer today! My morning visitor meadowlark is perched on top of the high line pole outside my office window. This meadowlark makes my morning most days. It sings and sings and sings.
