Family wedding

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

Yesterday one of my favorite people who I have called my “cousin brother friend” for many years was married. Scott married Elizabeth in her hometown during a ceremony that included personally written vows and Scott singing. It was beautiful. The wedding, the couple, the perfect summer day. I only took a few photos but it was a grand celebration and fabulously fun time.

My siblings and me, documenting our baby at 36 weeks, measuring full term 40 weeks. I was sure that a little wedding dancing with Nathan would send me into labor last night. Nope. The baby instead just danced right along with me.

Handsome men
Joe, Hunter and Jim

I must note my mom made 400 plus chair covers plus the runners and favors for the reception. Not something I can or will ever do my lifetime but she is impressive!

Donny and Hunter
They have always called each other Harold and Henry since Hunter was a little boy. No particular reason that I know of…just their personal nicknames.

When I saw Hunter standing in between Gpa Sonny and Jim I could not believe how tall he is.

There was another Elizabeth, not the bride but ours that was especially entertaining.

Shoes off, in the grass or playing at the park with Gpa Fred, Hunter, Auntie K, Uncle Joe or anyone who was willing is where Elissa was most happy. She announced she was “Ahh done!” before the bride had even walked down the aisle but made it through the first hymn of the wedding when she then departed with Daddy to have a snack with her cousin friend Nevaeh who also snacked on an apple and some banana bread and then they colored together. Nevaeh colored and Elizabeth cannot and will not sit still long enough to really color a picture. She was and is always on the move.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
