This weekend you can watch the 2008 US Olympic Trials in Track and Field! My former team mate and friend is one the top shot putters in the world, 2007 World Champion Reese Hoffa and my former coach and friend Don Babbitt is coaching Reese. I listed the TV schedule and network below plus you can check results at http://www.usatf.org/events/2008/OlympicTrials-TF/schedule.asp
Part of the reason I love track and field is the purity of it. Yes there are doping issues. But last night a 16 year old girl Laura Roesler from Fargo North Dakota qualified for the 800 meter finals. Hazel Clark led the pack but I remember watching Hazel Clark run for Florida when I was in college…and that was ten years ago. For anyone who has ever experience track and field in North Dakota (80% of the time cold and windy in the spring), you have to be glowing to read about a ND young athlete featured today in the LA Times.
