Miss E loves March mud

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

The snow is melting on the prairie. It is a slow thaw which is ideal to prevent spring flooding but it is a time that we long for sunshine (which we haven’t seen it what seems like months), green grass and no mud. Frosty fell over and every day Miss E needs to go out to “see where Frosty was” which is really just her excuse to slop in the mud.

The other day E was having so much fun in the mud that she decided would run in the mud to Nana’s house. I watched to see how far she would go and then told her to come home.

She had other ideas.

I finally chased her down, only after she had taken a spill in the mud.
It did not seem to faze her. What’s a little mud?

I told E we had to hurry inside to clean up her muddy pants and hands because we only had a few minutes before we needed to leave to give Hunter a ride to catch a bus for a wrestling meet.
She had other ideas.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
