Fargo

I am working from my old stompin‘ grounds for a couple days and thus don’t have new pictures to post. Auntie Kirsti road tripped to our house as she has a break from class and is taking care of the kids for a couple days! It was a great surprise when she called and said “I’m on way to your house”. I said “I’m not there!”. She said “I know I talked to Nathan and I’m going to go take care of the kids and stay until Sunday.” Sweet. Baby E (she is still a baby for another few weeks until she is one year old!) and Hunter miss their former summer nanny Auntie K. It will be an exciting few days for them to hang out with her again.
My task tonight is to create our Thanksgiving menu from my hotel room. Between Martha Stewart’s web site and calling my sister in law Lori I should be able to get a menu together. I might try to sneak in some Christmas shopping tonight too. I am a terrible shopper though and prefer online shopping, having it delivered to my door step. When I am in the Fargo office, I get asked “do you miss living here?”. The simple answer is…not really. Yes at times we miss our circles of friends in Fargo, Park Christian School and the ease of going out to dinner. But we can visit friends and you all check our blog to stay in touch. Our life now is simpler. A remote location forces simplicity. One person and place I miss is my friend Rachel who was my “trainer” in Fargo. I would visit her 3 early mornings a week. And just for old times sake I have a 6AM appointment with her tomorrow. I will be stiff and sore this weekend! Tomorrow night my three girlfriends who as a group we call the “Fab Four” are meeting up for our annual gathering at Hotel Donaldson. Guaranteed fun. By early Saturday, I will be ready for the road trip home and to take Hunter to his piano festival. His competition is at 3PM. Pictures and results to follow.

    Hey- remember me? Te-he.
I’d like to see you when you are in town sometime. Stop by for coffee 😉

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
