IF YOU POST IT, THEY WILL COME. This blog thing is working…within 48 hours…all in one day BOTH Mama Jane and Auntie Kirsti came to visit. Separate visits. There are many of you that we would like to have visit…so I am going to trust you will find your way here soon too! We’ll leave the light on for you.
This morning Mama Jane came for a quick visit before heading to Kirsti’s game in Jamestown. Then AFTER her game Kirsti called and road tripped down to visit this evening. What a fun day at home! However we missed Nathan…who for the first time since we moved here (14+ months ago) took a much earned and deserving couple days away to enjoy some fishing on the Missouri River with his dad. For years Nathan traveled weekly… but I have grown very accustom to having him home now. It was odd for me to get home last night from my travel this week and not have him home. Of course we had Grandma Carol here with the kids and she even had taco salad for me waiting in the fridge. We are excited to have a fish fry hopefully when Nathan and Eldon arrive home tomorrow night.

Saturday morning playtime at the park
Elizabeth’s first time on the teeder-totter. Hunter and Mama Jane gave her a lesson. In between our visits today Elizabeth attended her friend Camden’s 1st birthday party. And Hunter has been having a “air soft gun” war with his friends all afternoon until now. Only because I insisted on him being home by 8pm and it is getting dark outside did the ongoing war end. Elissa is out for the night (let’s cross our fingers). Kirsti, Hunter and I are making banana bread while of course keeping up with the score of the Georgia vs. Arizona St. football game. I promised my new Sunday School class, grades 6, 7 and 8 that I would bring them food if they had their Bible verses memorized this week. I am bringing my end of the bargain to class tomorrow–fresh banana bread. We will see how they did. And to make them even more happy, I bought an array of candy at the grocery store today. Nothing like bribery to get middle school students to memorize Bible verses.

Hunter does not like hearing my yelling I mean CHEERING at games. So I try to be quiet but this picture proved to him why I always shout “Get your arms up!”. Any of my siblings would remember we had this phrase strongly enforced to each of us a few thousand times while playing basketball.
ONLY in rural America do you see this…look closely down at the opposing bench…yep that is the other team’s coach…wearing Wrangler jeans, cowboy boots and a cowboy hat!
After missing two free throws near the end of the game when it was tied this past Tuesday, Hunter was fouled again and had two more free throws. And he made both…his team ended up winning by four points.

Last weekend’s porch building
Once the porch is complete, we will enjoy many early morning cups of coffee on the porch and watching sunsets in the evenings.
Last weekend, Elissa sharing peaches with Grandpa Eldon
Before church last Sunday, Elizabeth is all decked and ready to go. I purposely told Nathan to hike up her dress for this pic so we could see those cute mouse tights that match the mouse shoes. Dressing a little girl is very fun…for moms, grandmas and aunties, but A LOT of learning for daddys! Our book worm Hunter always trying to get in a few more minutes of reading.

On a technical note…I changed the comments setting on this blog so you don’t need a Google account to leave a comment anymore. Which really means any of you can comment…yes Grandma even you. We love reading the few comments we get so please go ahead and leave a message.
