Robbie

June 9th, 2000 my brother Robbie was in a farm accident. He was 15 years old and it forever changed his life, impacting all of our family’s lives.

It was through a series of perfect timed events that his life was saved. We all know it was God’s timing and His plan for Robbie to be with us today. When I got to the hospital Robbie had not arrived yet and the nurse took me to a small room to sit in but through a window on a white board outside of the room I glanced up and read the in-bound list. It read “Aneta, Crush Victim”.
Those words will never leave me. Every June 9th since that day, I am thankful for Robbie. And thankful for a host of others things like the volunteer Aneta ambulance squad and all those like them across rural areas that save lives every day and the surgeons that miraculously saved Robbie’s hand and even transplanted nerves back into it.

When he plays the guitar and sings it is more than music, it is a miracle. We love you Robbie.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
