Happy 4 months old

Happy 4 months old to me!

This is Elizabeth Carolyn Jane. Can you believe I’m already four months old? I’m getting to be a big girl now. I weigh 16.6 lbs. and I’m 26.5″ in length. My grandma who my brother and I call Mama Jane made this bonnet for me out fabric with hats all over it. My mom thinks it makes me look like a baby in 1908 not 2008, maybe what Laura Ingalls Wilder had her Baby Rose wear. I love the bonnet and it will protect me from the warm sun this spring and summer. Plus it looks good with my blue eyes! As you can see from the first picture above, I now eat rice cereal. It is so yummy. My Grandma Carol gives me some in the morning at her house and my mommy or daddy feed me some in the evening. I just gobble it up and enjoy every bite. Some other changes that happened in the last month are that I now enjoy rolling over and scooting around on my play mat. I giggle and laugh and am always a happy girl in the mornings. My daddy reads to me each night after my bath and my big brother Hunter reads to me in the morning before I go to school. I love looking at the bright colors in the books. I am working now on sitting up and would rather just go right to standing. For the time being I just sit in my Bumbo chair.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
