Auntie Lori’s house

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

We visited Auntie Lori in her new home in Wisconsin.
Lori taught her little brother to make an excellent fried rice recipe…now we’ll see if Nathan makes it for us at home.

And Hunter memorized the pop over recipe.

Cherries Jubliee…yes Hunter learned to make this recipe too.

There was plenty of quality Daddy and Elissa time.

Hunter learning to poach eggs for Eggs Benedict. I hope he remembers all of his cooking lessons from Auntie Lori and makes them for us at home.

Growing girl. Elissa pulls herself up and is getting strong.

Big brother and sister. Hunter is so good with Elissa. She was an excellent baby on our travels. Hunter was great at entertaining her in the car with toys and books.

Hunter and Lori spent some time playing piano together. It was so much fun to visit Auntie Lori, see her new house and meet some of her friends. There is a lot of snow of Wisconsin and Hunter had playing in the snowy woods. Nathan and Hunter also spent a day skiing at a local place and had a lot of fun.
On our way home we stopped to meet up with Hunter’s buddies and our cousins Wyatt and Logan and uncle Nathan and aunt Theresa. But I missed taking pictures! Hunter and Logan spent hours playing in the largest indoor water park in America and we all had fun visiting. Elissa fell right to sleep in the water park. Good white noise and warmth!
Hunter told me this morning before getting on the bus to go to school “Mom our house looks like a bomb hit it”. Thanks buddy. Indeed I have some catching up on laundry to do this week but Elissa and I are going to hang out at home and get organized. I also have caught Nathan’s cold bug and barely have a voice left this morning. We are going to enjoy every day that I have left of mat leave together. It’s down to three weeks and counting. While I miss my work, co-workers and travels, it will be hard to take the babe to day care on March 10. However Gma Carol is going to take her a couple days a week so that will be easier and I’m sure Mama Jane will be finding her way back to Wishek for some grandchildren time soon.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
