Both Nathan and I have talked many times about how grateful we are for the true friendships we have developed over the years…well today is Miss Katie B’s 30th birthday. So here are a few pics that remind me of just a few of the fun times we have shared during our friendship. Going back into the archives to find a few of these pics…
At a very pivotal point in my life, Miss McCoy was a Godsend to me. My roommate at UGA. We shared the same name. Both graduates of high schools called Central. Both had mascots of Knights. Both from families of four kids. On paper we had so much in common yet we were raised thousands of miles a part and suddenly sharing a small dorm room on the 9th floor of O House. Most importantly, she was a bold, Christian girl who with out really even knowing it got my life on track. It was a blessing. She impacted me in a short time and through that we built a lasting true friendship. Our bond started with being teammates. Passion for throwing. (Look at Baby Hunter in the above picture…time flies!!!) But from that bond, we shared shoes, colored one another’s hair, wore a lot of pink, played with make up like young girls, sang along to a lot of music, laughed and cried about boys for years until we both finally met our soul mates and then we cried with tears of joy. We dreamed of having babies and pushing jog strollers together while wearing ankle weights. No more hurdle hops though for our old knees. That is the next thing we’ll do when we get together. She’ll push around her son Rody and I’ll have a double stroller for Elissa and Baby Pinke. And we can teach Hunter to throw and he can be the one doing hurdle hops.
Peyton, Katie and me in a field at our farm in what I think was probably 2002. Katie and Peyton were camping in Montana…or maybe Wyoming, got spooked by a bear and drove all the way to my house in eastern ND with out stopping except for gas, bathroom and food breaks. A long day’s road trip.
Beautiful and joyous Katie as the bride. And I love my spray tan look!

Thank you for that, Katie…that was really thoughtful and sweet and made my eyes well up with some tears…except I can’t cry now b/c I am at work!!! Don’t worry- I’ll have a good boo hoo over it later…in private. Crazy about the 1st picture- the 1996 ocoee River site- I live 20 minutes from there now! who would have ever known??? Thanks for taking me down memory lane and for reminding me about the goodness of the Lord Jesus!
