After our long weekend vacation that yesterday included us getting up at 3AM for a early flight, bounding up the escalator and sprinting through Terminals A & B in the Atlanta airport to make a connecting flight and then not receiving any of our luggage when we landed at home (a nice delivery man brought it to our house last night and said to Nathan “I’ve been here before”…indeed not the first time Northwest has missed on luggage and had to send a delivery person with it to us), today was a much different day. We a had routine breakfast with the kids before Hunter left for school. Then we drove to an appointment. And there, Nathan and I had the joy of “meeting”/ seeing our baby at my 20 week ultrasound. We brought Elizabeth along for the appointment which adds a dimension of excitement. She didn’t quite grasp that indeed there was a baby on the screen and that she was not the baby we were talking about with the ultrasound technician. Above is a side profile with legs curled up…the size of the baby measured right on track.
Here is a little foot. The most rewarding thing we heard all day was after the ultrasound, at our appointment with the doctor and she said “well the baby looks perfect”. Perfect. What a blessing.
We were given a CD with photos and two short video clips. The video clip above is all of five seconds and doesn’t show any fancy tricks our baby can do…just our sweet baby in the womb. But he/she is a perfect baby at the half way point of my pregnancy and we are excited.
No, we did not find out the sex of the baby. It will remain a surprise until arrival in early July. Until then, the debate will continue…although Hunter is warming up to the idea that it is a 50/50 chance of a brother or another sister. We think regardless if it is a boy or girl, a healthy baby will be fabulous.
