Elizabeth checking out her uncle Joe
We brought Joe a delivery of fresh kuchen from our local bakery, 3 blueberry and 2 chocolate chip to his dorm on Saturday morning. He sent me a text message early in the week asking for it. I decided I don’t need to learn make it myself when I can buy it and it probably tastes better than my homemade version would! My mom says “its the German in him” that has Joe loving kuchen. He loaded up the kuchen in his fridge and will be chowing down on it all week. I asked Joe if he always makes his bed or only for company. His bed was NEVER made at home unless our mother sent him to his room with strict orders. But Joe says “most days” he makes his dorm room bed. And this my friends is…progress.
A pre-game visit to our favorite great-great aunt Iris who is 103 years old. We love Iris and treasure our visits with her.

Ok. First of all, what is kutchen? Your non ND friends have no idea. And secondly, dorm living! Those were the days living in the dorm with you in our loft beds that we had to be careful in every morning when we woke up so we wouldn’t hit our heads! (I think that was a run on sentence…sorry!)

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
