5 days old

Filed Under: Misc. Tagged With: baby 1 Comment

Elizabeth Carolyn Jane is five days old today. And rather than post more sleeping baby photos, we have awake baby photos! It is amazing how quickly lives can change and we are thankful for all of the changes since Elissa’s arrival . Hunter spends time before and after school holding his baby sister and talking to her. He is already coaching her on saying “Hunter” and “football” as her first words. Nathan takes the early evening shift and I take the middle of the night shift with Elissa. Last night she had Nathan pulling out all the stops from the baby swing, nuk, bouncer, rocking, walking, swaddling…Nathan did it all for his daughter and eventually she snuggled down on his chest and fell asleep. And the sweet baby slept and slept–for five hours and I only checked on her twice to make sure she was okay! Now I cannot imagine that will happen two nights in a row but we are hopeful. Having my mom with us this week is great. She makes awesome meals, took Hunter to a basketball game, helped him with his science project and study for a couple of tests and you’ll see by the picture above that she gets her time holding her granddaughter.

I love these pictures! What a cutie. Sounds like you guys are really having fun with Elissa. Wish I could be there to give her a hug.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
